BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University seniors Bojana Roman, Alison Scagnelli and Alisha Silva have been selected to the 2017 Little East Conference Women's Tennis All-Conference Team.
Roman and Scagnelli earned first team honors in doubles play, while Roman and Silva picked up second team accolades in singles competition.
Roman is making her sixth appearance on the All-Little East Team between singles and doubles play, while Scagnelli and Silva are both making their third.
A native of Somerset, Massachusetts, Roman posted a 12-5 singles record competing exclusively at the second flight this season with a 9-1 mark versus Little East opponents.
Scagnelli and Roman teamed up for a 15-3 second flight doubles record including a perfect 11-0 mark versus Little East tandems.
Competing against the top player from each team at first flight singles, Silva went 4-13 in singles play during the 2017 campaign with a 3-5 regular season record in LEC competition.
In four seasons with the Bears, Roman won 99 career matches with a 47-13 (.783) singles record and a 52-17 (.754) doubles mark. She went 36-3 (.923) against Little East opponents in singles play and 39-2 (.951) in doubles.
Scagnelli, who hails from Sutton, Massachusetts, recorded 79 wins in her four seasons at BSU with a 29-18 (.617) singles record and a 50-19 (.725) doubles mark. She was 20-7 (.741) versus LEC opponents in singles competition and 39-2 (.951) in doubles.
A Taunton, Massachusetts product, Silva finished her four-year career with 50 victories with 21 coming in singles play (21-40) and 29 exclusively in first doubles competition (29-39).
The BSU women's tennis team posted a record of 12-6 on the season with a 6-2 mark in the Little East. Seeded third in the LEC Tournament, the Bears knocked off #6 seed UMass Boston, 5-0, in the quarterfinals and #2 UMass Dartmouth, 5-4, in the semifinals before dropping a 5-1 decision to top-seeded Rhode Island College in the championship match.
