Bojana Roman Named Little East Women's Tennis Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior Bojana Roman has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

Roman went unbeaten in singles and doubles competition in a perfect 4-0 week for the Bears which included Little East wins over Salem State, Western Connecticut and Worcester State. The Somerset, Massachusetts product won in straight sets in all four of her second flight singles matches and teamed with classmate Alison Scagnelli for a 4-0 record at second doubles.

Through 13 matches this season, Roman is 10-3 in both singles and doubles play and is undefeated in seven conference matches.

In four season with the Bears, Roman has produced  a 45-11 (.804) singles record and a 47-17 (.734) doubles mark. She is 35-2 (.946) all-time in singles competition and 36-2 (.947) in doubles play against Little East opponents. Roman has won 28 straight singles matches versus Little East opponents.

The BSU women's tennis team is currently 9-4 on the season and 6-1 in the Little East. The Bears host unbeaten Rhode Island College with the first place on the line in the LEC on Tuesday afternoon at three.
