Women’s Swimming & Diving Competes at Louise Goodrum Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team competed at the non-scoring Louise Goodrum Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at the Tripp Athletic Center.

The Bears placed first in six events on the day.

Senior Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) won three individual events and was part of two winning relay squads. Coogan captured top honors in the 50 freestyle (25.82), 100 freestyle (57.64) and 50 butterfly (29.30).

The foursome of sophomore Makayla Paquin (North Easton, Mass.) and seniors Adi Tobias (North Attleboro, Mass.), Megan Bonney (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) and Coogan placed first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:00.11.

Tobias was also the first to touch the wall in the 50 butterfly as she posted a time of 29.30 seconds.

The quartet of Coogan, Paquin, junior Allison Hunt (Norton, Mass.) and Bonney notched a winning time of 1:47.49 in the 200 freestyle relay.

In upcoming action, the Bears travel to Wheaton College on Wednesday evening for a six o'clock meet with Lyons.
