Nolan Garners All-NEISDA Honors, Helps Break School Record on Final Day of 2019 NEISDA Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) earned All-NEISDA honors and helped break a 13-year old school record during the fourth and final day of the 2019 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships on Sunday at the MIT Alumni Pool.

Nolan placed third and garnered All-NEISDA accolades in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 18:17.51.

Nolan, fellow senior Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.) and juniors Megan Bonney (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) and Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) broke the school record and placed fifth at the meet in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:40.35. The foursome eclipsed the previous mark of 3:45.27 set back in 2006 by Jillian Coache, Sarah Fuller, Meaghan Thomas and Lindsay Devereaux.

All told, the BSU women's swimming & diving team broke seven school records during the four-day championship meet. The Bears finished fifth in the team standings with 676 points.
