BSU Women’s Swimming & Diving Hosts “Last Gasp” Open Invitational

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team hosted the non-scoring BSU "Last Gasp" Open Invitational on Friday evening at the Moriarty Pool.

Freshman Danielle Vissering (North Andover, Mass.) placed first and posted career-best times in both the 50 freestyle (27.31) and 100 freestyle (59.61) events, while senior Bridgette McGovern (Natick, Mass.) was the first to touch the wall in the 100 backstroke with a career-best time of 1:09.84.

Junior Adi Tobias (North Attleboro, Mass.) grabbed top honors in the 50 breaststroke (35.71) and the 100 breaststroke (1:20.40). Tobias' time in the 50 breaststroke marked a season-best.

Senior Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) recorded the top times in both the 200 freestyle (2:05.74) and 200 backstroke (2:23.57).

The Bears are off until Thursday, February 21st when qualifying members of the squad compete at the four-day New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships.
