Women’s Swimming & Diving Falls to Babson, 192-91

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team competed in a dual meet against host Babson College on Saturday afternoon at the Elizabeth Morse Swimming Center.

The Bears (5-6) dropped a 192-91 decision to the host Beavers.

Freshman Selin Marino (East Greenwich, R.I.) captured top honors in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:40.92, while senior Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) won the 50 backstroke a she touched the wall in 29.56 seconds.

Junior Alexa Wilson (Centerville, Mass.) placed second in the one-meter diving competition with a career-best score of 201.52 points as she qualified for the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships.

The Bears also finished second in both relay events. The foursome of Nolan, juniors Adi Tobias (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Megan Bonney (Hoffman Estates, Ill.), and senior Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.) posted a time of 1:59.00 in the 200 medley relay, while Nolan, Bonney, Souza and junior Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) recorded a time of 1:45.60 in the 200 freestyle relay.

Sophomore Allison Hunt (Norton, Mass.) placed second in the 500 freestyle with a season-best time of 5:39.51.

In upcoming action, the Bridgewater State swimming & diving teams host the BSU " Last Gasp" Open Invitational on Friday (Feb. 8) evening at six.
