Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to #23 Wheaton, 133-72

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's swimming and diving team competed against visiting Wheaton College in a dual meet on Wednesday evening at the Moriarty Pool.

The visiting Lyons won the meet by a score of 133-72. Wheaton improves to 3-2 on the season with the win, while the host Bears fall to 3-1.

Bridgewater State's relay squad featuring seniors Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) and Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.), and juniors Megan Bonney (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) and Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) placed first in the 400 freestyle relay with a season-best time of 3:49.85.

Coogan also captured top honors in the 100 freestyle with a season-best time of 56.8 seconds.

BSU freshman Selin Marino (East Greenwich, R.I.) added a first place performance in the 1,000 freestyle (11:45.79).

Bridgewater State is back in the pool on Saturday afternoon as the Bears entertain Clark University at two.
