Haley Nolan Named NEISDA Swimmer of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Haley Nolan has been selected as the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Women's Swimmer of the Week.

Nolan set the school record in the 50 backstroke to highlight the Bears' 109-78 victory over Gordon College on Saturday, November 18th. The Lowell, Massachusetts product posted a time of 29.29 seconds in the backstroke during the opening leg of the 200 medley relay as she eclipsed Lindsay Devereaux's previous program mark of 29.35 seconds set in 2006.

Nolan also captured top honors in the both the 50 freestyle (26.23) and 50 backstroke (29.41) events in the win over the Fighting Scots, and paced the Bears to a first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay with a leadoff time of 26.65.

Earlier that week, Nolan was the first to touch the wall in the 200 freestyle against Roger Williams University with a time of 2:01.54.

In upcoming action, the Bridgewater State swimming & diving teams host the BSU Invitational on Saturday, December 2nd.
