Pair of Women's Swimming Records Fall at NEISDA Championships

KINGSTON, R.I. – The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team set a pair of school records on Friday morning at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships held at the URI Tootell Aquatic Center.

Junior Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.), senior Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass.), sophomore Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) and junior Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) broke the program mark in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:43.05. The foursome eclipsed the previous BSU record of 1:44.82 set by Jillian Coache, Meaghan Thomas, Lindsay Devereaux and Sarah Fuller in 2006.

Nolan also posted a time of 5:20.14 in the 500 freestyle to break the school record of 5:21.23 set by Thomas also in 2006.

Friday's finals are slated to get underway later this evening at six o'clock.
