Women's Swimming & Diving Splits Tri-Meet on Senior Day

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team split a tri-meet with Babson College and Norwich University on Senior Day at the Moriarty Pool.

The Bears (7-9) posted a 190-82 win over Norwich and dropped a tough 144-136 decision to Babson.

The foursome of junior Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.), sophomore Adi Tobias (North Attleboro, Mass.), senior Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass.) and junior Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.) opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay (1:58.98).

Nolan also captured top honors in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:30.94.

Sophomore Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) picked up a win in the 200 freestyle as she recorded a time of 2:05.74.

Coogan, Grant, Souza and Nolan closed out the meet with a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:46.32).

Prior to the meet, the Bears honored seniors Grant, Amanda Brennen (Waltham, Mass.), Becca Foster (Billerica, Mass.), Kate Karl-Morin (Salem, Mass.) and Katie Rogier (Hanover, Mass.).

The Bears are off until Thursday, February 15th when they compete at the four-day NEISDA Swimming & Diving Championships held at the University of Rhode Island.
