Women's Swimming & Diving Edged by Clark, 136-135

WORCESTER, Mass. – The visiting Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team was edge by Clark University, 136-135, on Saturday afternoon at the Kneller Center Pool.

The Bears, who placed first in seven of the 16 events, fall to 2-4 in dual meet competition with the setback.

Junior Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) won a pair of individual events and was part of two winning relays to lead the way for Bridgewater State.

Nolan, sophomore Adi Tobias (North Attleboro, Mass.), junior Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.) and sophomore Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay (1:59.86).

Nolan was also the first to touch the wall in the 1,000 freestyle (11:23.24) and the 200 backstroke (2:23.20). Tobias added a win in the 100 backstroke (1:09.35), while Coogan placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:06.17).

Souza, senior Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass.), Coogan and Nolan captured top honors in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:45.56 to close out the meet.

Junior Kate Karl-Morin (Salem, Mass.) posted a score of 123.90 points on the one-meter diving board to earn first place points in the event.

In upcoming action, the BSU women's swimming & diving team travels to Roger Williams University on Wednesday afternoon for four o'clock meet with the Hawks.
