Women's Swimming & Diving Finishes 13th at NEISDA Championships

KINGSTON, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University wrapped up the four-day New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division III Championships on Sunday at the University of Rhode Island.

Senior Sarah Biltcliffe (Fall River, mass.) and junior Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass.) recorded the top two performances for the Bears on Sunday.

Biltcliffe finished 11th in the 200 breaststroke with a finals time of 2:37.58, while Grant placed 11th in the 100 individual medley with a finals time of 1:05.92.

Sophomore Nicole Moneghan (Lincoln, R.I.) checked in at 13th in the 200 butterfly (2:27.95), while freshman Adi Tobias (North Attleboro, Mass.) finished 16th in the 50 backstroke (30.14).

BSU's 400 freestyle relay squad featuring sophomore Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.), senior Shae Aiguier (Braintree, Mass.), junior Amanda Brennen (Waltham, Mass.) and freshman Abigail Bailey (Hanson, Mass.) placed 14th overall in the event with a finals time of 3:59.31.

The Bears placed 13th in the final team standings with 317 points. Roger Williams University captured the team title with 1,452 points followed by Simmons College (1,259 pts.) in second place and Keene State College (1,118 pts.) in third.
