Day One Results

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- A pair of school records fell on Friday as the Bridgewater State College women's swimming & diving team competed on day one of the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association Women's Division II/III Championships held at UMass Dartmouth.

Sophomore Bryn Morwick (Indianapolis, IN) set a new school mark in the 200 individual medley as she placed third at the event with a time of 2:16.31.  Morwick broke Lindsay Devereaux's previous record of 2:17.49 set back in 2004.

The Bears' relay team consisting of Morwick and juniors Jillian Coache (New Bedford, MA), Sarah Fuller (Palmer, MA) and Erica Robinson (Lynn, MA) broke the BSC 400 medley relay mark as they posted a time of 4:17.33 which was good enough for fourth place at the championships. Coache, Morwick and Robinson along with Katrina Scholtz had set the previous school best time of 4:18.78 just last year.

After the first day of events, the Bears are currently in fourth place with a score of 169.50. BSC trails Bentley College (285), Keene State College (297) and first place Bryant University (302).
