BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior forward Emma Sanders has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Women's Soccer Player of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.
Sanders scored three goals in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears last week. The Seekonk, Massachusetts product netted a pair of markers in a 4-2 MASCAC win over Framingham State University and also found the back of the net in a 5-2 non-conference victory at Salve Regina University.
Through seven games this season, Sanders has three goals and three assists for a team-leading nine points. She is tied for first in the MASCAC in assists, ranks fifth in scoring and is tied for seventh in goals.
In 39 games over her first three seasons at Bridgewater State, Sanders has amassed 11 goals and seven assists for 29 career points.
The BSU women's soccer team is currently 4-2-1 on the season and 2-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears are back in action on Saturday morning when they travel to Fitchburg State University for a ten o'clock conference game with the Falcons.
