BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Sophomore wrestlers Edwin Morales and Ryan Higgins have each earned a spot in the latest national rankings on d3wrestle.com.
Morales is ranked as a contender in the 184-pound weight class. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native is currently 5-1 (.833) on the season with 13 takedowns, 14 near falls, 1 reversal and five escapes. Morales placed second last weekend at the Roger Williams Invitational. His only setback was to David Key of Naval Academy Prep in the championship match.
A native of Billerica, Massachusetts, Higgins is listed as an honorable mention in the heavyweight class. He is 7-1 (.975) on the year with four pins, 13 takedowns, two near falls and three escapes. Higgins placed second last weekend at the Roger Williams Invitational as he dropped a tough 3-1 decision to #8 ranked Michael DiNardo of Johnson & Wales University in the championship bout.
The BSU wrestling team is back in action on Saturday as the Bears will compete at the Doug Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College.
