Wrestling Goes 0-3 at Coast Guard Quad

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Bridgewater State University wrestling team competed at a quad meet hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Saturday afternoon.

Bridgewater State went 0-3 on the day. The Bears dropped a 52-0 decision to host Coast Guard before falling to WPI, 46-6, and New York University, 49-3. NYU and Coast Guard entered the day ranked 17th and 18th, respectively, in all of Division III.

Freshman 125-pounder Wilson Gomes (New Bedford, Mass.) went 2-1 on the day to pace the Bears. Gomes earned a 10-8 decision over NYU's Jonathan Keltz and picked up a forfeit victory in the match with WPI.

The BSU wrestling team returns to the mat on Friday, February 8th when the Bears host a tri-match with Trinity College and Rhode Island College.
