GORHAM, Maine -- The visiting Bridgewater State University wrestling team dropped a 39-7 decision to the University of Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon in Gorham, Maine.
The match marked the season-opener for the host Huskies who improve to 1-0, while the Bears fall to 1-1.
Senior captain Eric Kerr (Lynnfield, Mass.) and sophomore Henry Oberlander (Mansfield, Mass.) picked up the only two wins on the day for Bridgewater State. Kerr recorded an 8-0 major decision victory competing out of the 165-pound weight class, while Oberlander posted a 5-3 decision at 184.
The Bears are off until next Saturday when they compete at the Roger Williams Invitational which gets underway at 10:00 AM.
