BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman 125-pounder Dylan Nuttall has been selected as the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Rookie Wrestler of the Week.

Nuttall posted a fourth place finish at the Doug Parker Invitational this past weekend as he went 4-2 with a pin and technical fall victory.

Nuttall blanked Joey Aumann of Plymouth State, 9-0, in the quarterfinals and defeated Collyn Dorney of Division II East Stroudsburg, 5-1, in the consolation semifinals. Nuttal also recorded a technical fall (17-2) win over Casey Abshire of Southern Maine and pinned (4:25) Brennen Liebel of Rhode Island College.

In 14 bouts this season, Nuttall is 10-4 (.714) with two pins, 22 takedowns, six near-falls, six reversals and 17 escapes. He is currently ranked third out of the 125-pound weight class in the NEWA Division III Individual Rankings.

The BSU wrestling team will return to action next week when the Bears host Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7:00 PM.
