BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Bridgewater State College freshman Mike White has been named the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Rookie Wrestler of the Week for his performance at the MIT Duals this past weekend.
A native of Canton, Massachusetts, White was a perfect 2-0 as he helped the Bears improve to 9-4 on the season in dual meet action with wins over Plymouth State, Norwich University and host MIT.
White earned a pair of wins by decision over Kyle Moseley of Plymouth State and Clayton Brittingham of Norwich. He knocked off Moseley by a margin of 9-4 and defeated Brittingham, 6-5.
White, who competed on the men's soccer team in fall, presently has five wins to his credit along with 15 escapes, 4 takedowns and 4 reversals.
