PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State College wrestling team split a tri-match with Trinity College and Rhode Island College this evening in Providence, Rhode Island. BSC defeated Trinity, 34-11, and then dropped a 29-9 decision to host RIC.
The Bears wrap up the dual meet portion of their schedule with an overall record of 13-6 including a 3-3 mark in the Pilgrim Wrestling League (PWL).
Senior heavyweight Tim Ferreira (Danbury, CT) led the way for Bridgewater as he won a pair of bouts to increase his career victory total to 99. Ferreira, who is attempting to become just the fourth grappler in BSC wrestling history to reach the 100-win milestone, defeated Trinity's Nikolai Harovas, 4-1, and then knocked off RIC's Ray Moore, 9-4.
