BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Seniors Tim Ferreira (Danbury, CT) and Jim Quinlan (Methuen, MA), and juniors John Marsh (New Bedford, MA) and Eric Rosado (Foxboro, MA) each won their respective weight classes to lead the Bridgewater State College wrestling team to a third place finish at the 2008 Plymouth State Invitational on Sunday.

The Bears posted a score of 99 points trailing only on tournament champion New York University (120 points) and second place Roger Williams University (112 points).

Rosado picked up his third consecutive Plymouth State Invitational championship as he went 4-0 including a 16-8 major decision victory in the championship match of the 125-pound weight class.

Quinlan also won his third career PSU Tournament title as he picked up his team-leading seventh pin of the season and captured an 8-3 decision in the championship match of the 184-pound bracket. Quinlan, who won the tournament last season and in 2005, is now tied with John Fralick for first place on the Bears' all-time wins list as he now has 119 career victories.

The heavyweight Ferreira and the 157-pound Marsh earned PSU Tournament titles for the second straight season. Ferreria knocked off Roger Williams' Phil Kelly in the championship match in sudden death overtime, 2-1.  Kelly is currently ranked among the top six New England wrestlers.  Marsh, who won the 141-pound bracket a year ago, went 4-0 in the 157-pound weight class including a semifinal pin and an 8-5 decision in the title match.

Also placing high for the Bears was freshman Greg Martin (Wantage, NJ) who finished second in the 141-pound weight class. Martin captured three consecutive first period pins before dropping a hard-fought 6-4 decision in the championship match.
