Wrestling Bears Place 2nd at Ted Reese Invitational

GORHAM, Maine -- Senior Jim Quinlan (Methuen, MA) and sophomore Jeff Esposti (Brookfield, CT) captured tournament titles in their respective weight classes to lead the Bridgewater State College wrestling team to a second place finish at the Ted Reese Invitational hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday.

The Bears posted a score of 99.5 points finishing behind Merchant Marine Academy (108 pts).

Quinlan earned an 8-2 decision over Troy McGuiness of the Merchant Marine Academy in the title bout of the 184-pound weight class, while Esposti dominated Plymouth State's Ryan Scheiding as he took the 174-pound title with a 14-5 major decision victory.

Also competing well for the Bears was freshman Andrew Frazer (West Hartford, CT) who advanced to the championship match of the 197-pound weight class.  Frazer posted a second place finish as he lost by injury default in the title bout.

Senior Eric Coughlan (Sandwich, MA) and freshman John Scalise (Augusta, NJ) finished third and fourth respectively wrestling out of the 133-pound weight class.
