BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - In New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) action, the Bridgewater State College Bears defeated host Western New England College, 28-6, this evening in Springfield.
The Bears (2-0) earned wins in eight of the ten bouts including a pin by senior 184-pounder Jim Quinlan (Methuen, MA). Quinlan is a perfect 6-0 on the season and he now has 112 wins in his career.
Picking up wins by decision were junior 125-pounder Eric Rosado (Foxboro, MA), freshman Greg Martin (Wantage, NJ) at 141, freshman Ethan Raymond (Middlebury, VT) at 149, freshman 157-pounder Chad Jaramillo, freshman Zach Bates (Leyden, MA) at 165, and senior heavyweight Tim Ferreira (Danbury, CT).
Sophomore Jeff Esposti (Brookfield, CT) earned a major decision victory in the 174-pound weight class as he won the bout by a margin of 20-6.
The Bears are back in action on Saturday as they travel to the University of Southern Maine for the Ted Reese Invitational which gets underway at 10 AM.
