Victoria McDonough Named MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior attack Victoria McDonough has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.

McDonough tallied six goals and two assists for eight points in the Bears’ 15-5 season-opening win over Mount Holyoke. The Marshfield, Massachusetts product also added three ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers in the victory over the Lyons.

In 38 games over three seasons with the Bears, McDonough has amassed 79 goals and 92 assists for 171 points to go along with 57 ground balls, 116 draw controls and 37 caused turnovers. She ranks sixth all-time at Bridgewater State in assists and tenth in draws.

The BSU women’s lacrosse team is currently 1-0 on the young season. The Bears host the University of New England on Saturday afternoon at one.
