Victoria McDonough Named MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University junior attack Victoria McDonough has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.

McDonough registered six goals and five assists for 11 points to go along with two ground balls and 17 caused turnovers in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears. The Marshfield, Massachusetts product notched three goals, an assist, two ground balls and seven draw controls in a 13-12 MASCAC win over defending champions Westfield State University, and tallied three goals and four assists as well as ten draws in a 16-13 non-conference victory over Johnson & Wales University.

In the win over Johnson & Wales, McDonough became the 14th student-athlete in BSU women's lacrosse history to reach the 200-point milestone.

Through seven games this season, McDonough has 23 goals and 21 assists for 44 points to go along with 14 ground balls, 47 draw controls and eight caused turnovers. She ranks second in the MASCAC in both assists and draw controls, third in scoring and fifth in goals.

In 44 games over three seasons with the Bears, McDonough has amassed 96 goals and 111 assists for 207 points as well as 68 ground balls, 159 draw controls and 42 caused turnovers. She is tied for fourth all-time at Bridgewater State in assists and fifth in draws.

The BSU women's lacrosse team is currently 6-1 on the season and 1-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain Plymouth State University on Tuesday afternoon at four.
