BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman attack Jacqueline DeLorey has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.
A native of Westwood, Massachusetts, DeLorey recorded three goals and five assists for eight points to go along with two ground balls and two caused turnovers in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears.
DeLorey tallied three goals, four assists, a ground ball and a caused turnover in a 13-12 MASCAC win over defending champion Westfield State University. She also notched an assist, a ground ball and a caused turnover in a 16-13 non-conference victory over Johnson & Wales University.
Through seven games this season, DeLorey has recorded eight goals and seven assists for 15 points as well as seven ground balls and four caused turnovers.
The BSU women's lacrosse team is currently 6-1 on the season and 1-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain Plymouth State University on Tuesday afternoon at four.
