McDonough Notches 100th Career Goal in 13-10 Loss to Framingham State

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Sophomore midfielder Hannah McMahon (Watertown, Mass.) tallied five goals and an assist to lead the visiting Framingham State University women's lacrosse team to a 13-10 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) victory over Bridgewater State University on Saturday afternoon at Swenson Field.

McMahon also recorded a game-high seven draw controls for the Rams who improve to 9-3 on the season and 2-0 in the MASCAC. The host Bears fall to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play with the setback.

Framingham is now 3-9 all-time versus Bridgewater State.

Junior attack Victoria McDonough (Marshfield, Mass.) paced the hosts with four goals, including the 100th of her collegiate career, to go along with a pair of assists and three draws.

McMahon's goal with 59 seconds remaining in a tightly contested first half gave the Rams a 6-5 lead at the break.

Framingham potted the first three goals of the final stanza, including two by McMahon, to extend the lead to 9-5.

Back-to-back tallies from BSU senior midfielder Elizabeth Ettridge (Marshfield, Mass.) and freshman attack Jacqueline DeLorey (Westwood, Mass.) closed the gap to 9-7 with 20:24 left to play. Junior attack Grace Gamache (Dartmouth, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Jenna McMahon (Watertown, Mass.) quickly responded for Framingham before McDonough recorded her milestone goal to make it an 11-8 game with 14:41 remaining.

Junior midfielder Nicole Pacheco (Woburn, Mass.) found the back of the net at the 10:15 mark for the Rams and McMahon potted her fifth goal of the afternoon with 4:21 showing on the scoreboard to give the visitors a comfortable 13-8 lead.

BSU sophomore midfielder Emily Hiller (Marion, Mass.) scored twice in the final two minutes to cap off the scoring.

The Rams finished with a 32-26 shot advantage for the game including a 19-12 edge in the second half. Draw controls were 13-12 in favor of Bridgewater State. Eight of Framingham's 12 draws, however, came in the second half. The Rams went 3-for-7 on free position attempts, while the Bears were 0-for-2.

Senior netminder Indigo Fox Tree-McGrath (Bedford, Mass.) made seven saves to record her ninth win of the season between the pipes for the Rams. Junior Hayley Barner (Westwood, Mass.) turned aside 11 shots in the setback for the Bears.

Gamache finished with two goals and a pair of helpers for Framingham, while Jenna McMahon potted a pair of goals.

Ettridge netted a hat trick and DeLorey notched a goal and two assists for the Bears, while senior midfielder Lisa Moynihan (NOrwood, Mass.) corralled a team-best five draws

In upcoming action, Bridgewater State travels to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Tuesday night for a seven o'clock non-conference game with the Bears. Framingham State is off until next Saturday afternoon when the Rams travel to Fitchburg State University for a noontime game with the Falcons.
