Victoria McDonough Named MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore attack Victoria McDonough has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week.

McDonough registered five goals and six assists for 11 points in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears at SpringFling 2018 in Englewood, Florida. The Marshfield, Massachusetts product also notched four ground balls, eight draw controls and three caused turnovers.

McDonough tallied three goals and an assist to go along with a ground ball, three draws and a caused turnover in a 17-13 victory over Methodist University. She also recorded two goals and five assists as well as three ground balls, five draws and a pair of caused turnovers in a 19-5 win over Emerson College.

In four games this season, McDonough has produced six goals and 13 assists for 19 points. She also has seven ground balls, 14 draw controls and four caused turnovers to her credit.

McDonough leads the MASCAC in assists and is tied for the conference lead in scoring. She is also tied for fifth in goals.

In 22 games over her first two seasons with the Bears, McDonough has amassed 34 goals and 52 assists for 86 points to go along with 28 ground balls, 40 draws and 16 caused turnovers.

The BSU women's lacrosse team is currently 3-1 on the young season. In upcoming action, the Bears are scheduled to take on Wheaton College on Saturday evening at 6:00 PM. Wednesday night's game against MIT has been postponed due to the impending winter storm.
