Victoria McDonough Named MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University sophomore attack Victoria McDonough has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week.

A native of Marshfield, Massachusetts, McDonough tallied 13 goals and eight assists for 21 points as well as five ground balls, 22 draw controls and six caused turnovers in a perfect 3-0 week for the Bears.

McDonough scored four goals and added three ground balls, eight draws and a pair of caused turnovers in a 15-6 win over UMass Dartmouth. She also potted a career-high eight goals to go along with two assists, seven draws and a caused turnover in an 18-8 victory over Western New England University. McDonough capped off the week with a goal, six assists, two ground balls, seven draws and three caused turnovers in a 19-3 conference win over MCLA.

In nine games this season, McDonough has produced 24 goals and 23 assists for 47 points. She also has 16 ground balls, 43 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers to her credit.

McDonough currently ranks second in the MASCAC in scoring and is tied for second in assists and tied for fourth in goals. She is also fourth in the conference in draws and ninth in caused turnovers.

In 27 games over her first two seasons with the Bears, McDonough has amassed 52 goals and 62 assists for 114 points to go along with 37 ground balls, 69 draws and 25 caused turnovers.

The BSU women's lacrosse team is presently 7-2 on the season and 1-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain the Engineers of MIT on Tuesday evening at 6:30.
