Women's Lacrosse Picked to Finish Second in MASCAC Preseason Poll

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's lacrosse team has been picked to finish second in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) as the 2018 MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll was released today by MASCAC Director of Media Relations, Emily Loux.

The Bears, who captured the MASCAC regular season title in 2017, tallied 43 points in the poll including a pair of first place votes.

Defending MASCAC Tournament champion Westfield State University, who finished 6-1 in league play, is the preseason pick to win the conference title as the Owls received six of the eight first place votes and 48 total points.

Back for the Bears are All-Conference honorees, junior midfielder Elizabeth Ettridge (Marshfield, Mass.) and sophomore attack Victoria McDonough (Marshfield, Mass.). Ettridge tallied 48 goals and 15 assists for 63 points with 19 groundballs and 12 draw controls last season, while McDonough netted 28 goals and 39 assists for 67 points, while gathering 21 groundballs and 26 draw controls.

Under the giudance of third-year head coach Erica Adams, Bridgewater State kicks off their season on Saturday, February 24th (noon) with a non-conference contest against the Beavers of Babson College. The Bears open MASCAC play on Saturday, March 31st (1:00 PM) at MCLA.
