Three Bears Named to All-MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University junior midfielder Elizabeth Ettridge (Marshfield, Mass.), junior defender Lisa Moynihan (Norwood, Mass.) and sophomore attack Victoria McDonough (Marshfield, Mass.) have been named as first team selections on the 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Team.

Ettridge is making her third straight appearance on the All-MASCAC Team while McDonough is making her second. Moynihan is a first-time honoree.

Ettridge tallied 67 goals and nine assists for 76 points in 2018 to go along with 27 ground balls, 62 draw controls and 19 caused turnovers. She leads the MASCAC in goals, ranks fifth in scoring and seventh in draws.

In 56 games over her first three seasons, Ettridge has amassed 148 goals and 37 assists for 185 points. She is currently tenth all-time at BSU in goals.

Moynihan notched 63 ground balls, 73 draws and 33 caused turnovers in 19 games this season. She also scored a goal and dished out an assist. Moynihan ranks second in the conference in ground balls, fifth in caused turnovers and sixth in draws.

In 52 games over her first three seasons, Moynihan has totaled 122 ground balls, 85 draws and 59 caused turnovers.

McDonough completed the 2018 campaign with 45 goals and 51 assists for 96 points as well as 33 ground balls, 86 draws and 22 caused turnovers. She ranks second in the MASCAC in both assists and scoring, seventh in goals, and is tied for third in draws.

Among the national leaders, McDonough is tenth in all of Division III in assists and 18th in assists per game. Her 51 assists also mark the third highest single-season total in BSU women’s lacrosse history.

In the Bears’ 16-6 win over Mass. Maritime Academy on April 17th, McDonough recorded ten assists as she tied BSU Hall of Famer Shannon Manning’s school record. It marked the third highest single-game performance in all of Division III this season.

In 37 games over her first two seasons, McDonough has recorded 73 goals and 90 assists for 163 points. She is already sixth all-time at Bridgewater State in career assists.

The BSU women’s lacrosse posted an overall record of 12-7 during the 2018 season. Seeded third in the MASCAC Tournament with a 5-2 conference mark, the Bears notched a 19-13 quarterfinal round victory over #6 Salem State University before dropping an 18-10 decision to second-seeded Framingham State University in the semifinals.
