Victoria McDonough Named MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Player & Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week, Bridgewater State University freshman attack Victoria McDonough has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Player and Rookie of the Week.

McDonough tallied a career-high seven goals to go along with three assists for a career-high ten points in the Bears’ 19-12 win on the road over MASCAC rival Worcester State University. The Marshfield, Massachusetts product also added two ground balls, four draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers in the victory.

In 12 games this season, McDonough has produced 25 goals and 27 assists for 52 points to go along with 15 ground balls, 17 draws controls and seven caused turnovers. She currently leads the MASCAC in assists, ranks second in scoring and is tied for seventh in goals.

The rookie of the week honors marks McDonough's fourth of the season, while the player of the week accolade is her second.

The BSU women's lacrosse team is presently 7-6 on the season and a perfect 3-0 in the MASCAC standings. The Bears travel to Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Tuesday night for a seven o'clock conference game with the Buccaneers.
