BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. -- Senior Melissa Renauld (Framingham, Mass.) tallied four goals and three assists, including the 300th point of her career, to lead the visiting Bridgewater State University women's lacrosse team to a 14-5 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Bridgewater broke open a two-goal game by scoring three times in the final 2:42 of the opening half to take an 8-3 advantage at the break. Renauld and Ettridge combined for four tallies in the first 8:53 after intermission to extend that margin to 12-3 with just over 21 minutes remaining in the match. Junior Brooke Buckner (Foxboro, Mass.) accounted for the other marker of the night for Bridgewater State, which received four assists from freshman Victoria McDonough (Marshfield, Mass.) and a pair of helpers off the stick of junior Haley Riley (Wakefield, Mass.).

Junior Stephanie Hunt (Brookfield, Conn.) notched a hat trick in the setback for the host Buccaneers, who also received a goal and two assists from senior Christina Murphy (Forestdale, Mass.).  Senior Dahlia Seggelin (Sharon, Mass.) tallied as well for Massachusetts Maritime, which received a helper off the stick of senior Ashley Solari (Sandwich, Mass.).

Freshman Hayley Barner (Westwood, Mass.) picked up her second win of the season with a five save effort in goal for Bridgewater State, while junior Mikayla Correia (Dartmouth, Mass.) made seven stops in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime, as the Bears outshot the Buccaneers by a 22-11 margin overall and held a 15-6 edge in draw controls for the contest.

The MASCAC schedule continues for both teams on Saturday. The Bears entertain Fitchburg State University at 11:00 AM, while the Buccaneers head to North Adams, Mass. to take on MCLA at 3:00 PM.
