BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior forward Jennie Lindland has been selected to play in the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Senior All-Star Classic to be held on Saturday, March 25th at Mount Holyoke College.
Players from around the region were nominated for the honor by their coaches and Sports Information Directors. Coaches then selected the 23 participants through a vote.
Lindland averaged 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 26 games this season. The Edgartown, Massachusetts product also shot 52% (113-218) from the field.
In her final collegiate game, Lindland set the BSU single-game scoring record with 38 points in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) semifinal round setback to eventual tournament champion Westfield State University.
Lindland, who garnered All-MASCAC Second Team honors, ranked third in the MASCAC this season in field goal percentage, tenth in made field goals, 11th in made free throws (51) and 13th in scoring.
In 102 games over her four seasons at Bridgewater State, Lindland amassed 908 points, 397 rebounds, 104 assists, 69 blocked shots and 187 steals.
Lindland is one of four players from the MASCAC competing in the NEWBA Senior All-Star Classic. She is joined by classmates Kayla Hotaling of MCLA, Alycia Rackliffe of Framingham State University and Jill Valley of Westfield State University.
