BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Committee released its first 2008 regional poll today, and the Bridgewater State College Bears are ranked eighth in the Northeast Region.
The Bears, who are 17-4 on the season, currently sit atop the MASCAC standings with a conference record of 8-1. BSC has won 10 of the last 11 games, including a 55-54 win over Salem State back on January 23rd. Salem is presently ranked fifth in the poll and the two teams will meet again next Thursday night in Salem.
Tufts University (19-2) presently claims the top spot in the poll followed by the University of Southern Maine (20-2), Amherst College (21-2), Brandeis University (15-5), Salem (17-4), Bowdoin College (17-5), Williams College (16-6) and BSC.
