Colleen Feeney Named MASCAC Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season and fifth time in her career, Bridgewater State College senior forward Colleen Feeney has been selected as the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week.  Feeney shares this week's honor along with Salem State's Danielle Jenkins.

A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Feeney poured in 25 points on 10 of 12 shooting from the floor and 5 of 5 from the free throw line as the Bears' cruised to a 77-50 win over Mitchell College. Feeney, who blocked four shots in the game, also pulled down 13 rebounds en route to her eighth double-double in as many games this season.

Feeney has helped the BSC women's basketball team jump out to a 7-1 record. The 7-1 mark is the best start for the BSC women's hoops program since the 1984-85 season when the Bears won 26 of their first 27 games and finished with a 26-2 record.

Through eight games, Feeney is averaging 19.3 points, 13.8 rebounds and 3.4 blocked shots per game.  She is currently shooting 60% (60-for-100) from the floor and 76% (34-for-45) from the free throw line.

Feeney currently leads the MASCAC in scoring, rebounding, blocked shots, field goal percentage and defensive rebounds (10.4 per game). She is also second in the conference in free throw percentage and offensive rebounds (3.9 per game).

With 16 games remaining in the regular season, Feeney has 873 points in her collegiate career which includes two seasons at Rhode Island College.
