BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - In MASCAC women's basketball action this afternoon from the Tinsley Center, senior guard Justine Farroba (North Attleboro, MA) poured in a season-high 20 points, and fellow senior Caitlin Feeney (Providence, RI) added 17 to lead the host Bears of Bridgewater State College to a 73-46 win over Framingham State.

The Bears, who have won four straight games, improve to 11-3 on the season and 2-0 in the MASCAC.  Framingham falls to 4-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Farroba connected on 8 of 14 field goal attempts, including 4 of 8 from three-point range.  She also added 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.  Feeney shot 8 of 12 from the floor and pulled down 5 boards to go along with 6 assists and 5 steals.

All told Bridgewater had four players finish in double figure scoring.  Senior forward Colleen Feeney (Providence, RI) posted her 13th double-double of the season as she finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Feeney also registered 4 steals and a pair of blocked shots.  Senior guard Melissa Murphy (Rockland, MA) added 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists.

After Framingham pulled to within three points at 32-29 with 2:11 remaining in the first half, the Bears scored the final six points of the half to head into the locker room with a 38-29 advantage.  BSC then allowed just two points over the first five minutes of the second half to put the game away as they built the lead to 17 points (48-31). 

Bridgewater limited the Rams to just 28% (7-for-25) shooting in the second half after Framingham had connected on 12 of 26 (46%) field goal attempts in the opening stanza. The Bears totaled 21 steals in the game and forced 34 FSC turnovers.

Senior center Christina Bordini (Chelmsford, MA) led the way for Framingham as she scored a game-high 22 points on 8 of 11 shooting.  She also connected on 6 of 7 free throws and pulled down 6 rebounds to go along with 3 blocks and 2 steals.  Bordini, who scored 18 of her 22 points in the first half, needs just 14 points to reach the 1,000 for her career.

The Bears return to the hardwood on Monday afternoon at 2 PM as they travel to North Adams to take on the Trailblazers of MCLA in a matchup of MASCAC rivals.  Framingham hosts conference foe Worcester State on Tuesday night at 5:30.
