Women's Hoops Falls to Wisconsin-La Crosse, 85-76

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Despite a 24 point, 11 rebound performance from senior forward Colleen Feeney, the Bridgewater State College women's basketball team dropped an 85-76 decision to Wisconsin-La Crosse this morning at the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Feeney connected on 10 of 12 field goal attempts and was 4 for 5 from the free throw line before fouling out late in the second half.  She now has posted a double-double in nine of BSC's ten games this season.

Junior forward Mackenzie Hunter was the big gun for Wisconsin-La Crosse as she poured in 24 points on 10 of 11 shooting.  Hunter also pulled down 5 rebounds.

Junior forward Lindsay Wahl added 16 points and five rebounds for the Eagles, going six-of-eight from the field and four-of-six at the line. Freshman forward Dana Churchill recorded her first career double-double as she set career-highs with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Wisconsin-La Crosse shot 54% from the field, including 57% (16-of-28) in the second half. The Eagles were also 16-for-25 (64.0%) at the line.

Senior guard Caitlin Feeney (Providence, RI) added 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals for the Bears, while freshman forward Carolyn Swanson (Stoughton, MA) finished with 15 points, 4 boards and 3 steals.

BSC (7-3) shot 48% from the field, but were just 3 of 16 from three-point range. The Bears finished 15 of 24 (63%) at the free throw line.

The Bears are off until January 10th when they travel to Western New England College for a 6 o'clock game with the Golden Bears.
