Women's Basketball Rolls to 83-67 Win over Curry

MILTON, Mass. -- Senior forward Colleen Feeney posted her fourth staight double-double to lead the Bridgewater State College women's baskeball team to an 83-67 victory over Curry College on Monday night in Milton.

Feeney scored a game-high 25 points on 9 of 12 shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Bears (3-1) who won their third straight game.  Freshman forward Carolyn Swanson added a season-high 19 points on 8 of 12 shooting to go along with 8 boards, while senior guard Caitlin Feeney tallied 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. 

BSC scored the first eight points of the game and held the Colonels scoreless for over 4 1/2 minutes. The Bears led by as many as 12 points three times in the first half and a took a 38-27 lead into the locker room.

Curry pulled to within five points (42-37) early in the second half, but that would be as close as they would get. Bridgewater got up by as many as 21 points (81-60) before settling for the 83-67 win.

The Bears shot 56% (28-for-50) from inside the arc, including 13-for-19 in the first half, but were just 1 of 12 from three-point range.  BSC also went the line 32 times in the game connecting on 24 free throw attempts.
