Alexandra Ruprecht Named MASCAC Softball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore right fielder Alexandra Ruprecht has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Softball Player of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.

Ruprecht batted .615 (8-13) with a home run, a double, six runs scored and three RBI in a 2-1 week for the Bears. The Kingston, Massachusetts product also posted a .643 on base percentage and a .923 slugging percentage.

Ruprecht went 5-for-9 with a double, four runs and two RBI in a MASCAC doubleheader sweep of Salem State University, She was also 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI in a 14-12 non-conference setback to UMass Boston.

Through 17 games this season, Ruprecht is batting .340 (17-50) with a home run, two doubles, a triple, eight runs scored and eight runs batted in.

In 54 games over her first two seasons at Bridgewater State, Ruprecht has a career batting average of .330 (58-176) with three home runs, 11 doubles, a triple, 32 runs scored and 41 RBI.

The BSU softball team is currently 5-12 on the season and 2-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears are off until Saturday when they travel to Worcester State University for a noontime MASCAC doubleheader with the Lancers.
