BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - For the third straight season, Bridgewater State College senior center fielder Allie LeBlanc has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/Louisville Slugger Division III All-New England Team.
LeBlanc, a second team selection, batted .475 on the season with five home runs, 13 doubles, 38 runs scored and 47 RBI. She also posted a .705 slugging percentage and a .522 on base percentage. LeBlanc's .475 batting average was the third highest in team history.
The Somerset, Massachusetts native led the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in batting, home runs, doubles, hits (58), runs batted in, total bases (86) and slugging percentage. She also finished second in on base percentage and tied for second with sophomore teammate and fellow All-New Englander, Tracey Sanko (Windsor, CT), in runs scored.
LeBlanc helped BSC (28-11) capture a share of the MASCAC regular season title as the team went 10-2 in conference play. The softball team has now won or shared 14 consecutive MASCAC regular season titles. Seeded second at the MASCAC Tournament, the Bears went on to capture the tournament title for the seventh time in the nine-year history of the event.
The Bears also made the program's 20th appearance in the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament and tenth in the last 12 years.
In four seasons at Bridgewater, LeBlanc batted .390 with 12 home runs, 41 doubles, 109 runs scored and 125 RBI. She ranks third all-time at BSC in batting, at bats (502) and singles (142). She also holds the school record for longest hitting streak as she fashioned together a 26-game streak during her sophomore season of 2007.
Earlier this month, LeBlanc was selected to the All-MASCAC First Team for the third straight season as well.
