Allie LeBlanc Named to Regional All-Tournament Team
BEVERLY, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College senior center fielder Allie LeBlanc has been named to the NCAA Softball Division III New England Regional All-Tournament Team.
LeBlanc, who hails from Somerset, Massachusetts, batted .400 (2-for-5) in BSC's two games at the regional with a home run and a walk. She also made two spectacular diving catches in center field.
Bridgewater dropped a 3-1 decision to Coast Guard in the opening round of the tournament last Thursday. The Bears were then eliminated by virtue of a 7-2 defeat at the hands of Rhode Island College on Friday afternoon.
Tufts University captured the New England Regional championship. The Jumbos went 4-0 at the tournament including a 10-1 victory over Coast Guard in the championship round.
LeBlanc wrapped up the 2009 season with a .475 batting average. She belted five home runs to go along with 13 doubles, scored 38 runs and drove in 47.
