Meghan Noyes Named ECAC Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College sophomore right fielder Meghan Noyes has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Softball Player of the Week.

Noyes batted .579 (11-for-19) with nine runs scored and 11 runs batted in during a 5-1 week for the Bears which included a 4-0 mark against MASCAC teams.

The Stoughton, Massachusetts native went 8-for-11 (.727) in the Bears' four wins against Fitchburg State and MCLA. She scored nine runs and drove in seven while also walking twice as she reached safely in 10 of 13 plate appearances.

Noyes heads into the MASCAC Tournament with a .431 batting average, 31 runs scored and 27 RBI. She leads the conference in one base percentage (.512) and is tied for second in runs scored. Noyes is also third in batting average and hits (44), fourth in slugging percentage (.529), tied for fourth in runs batted in, and tied for fifth in walks (13) and stolen bases (7).

Bridgewater State wrapped up the regular season with a 23-15 overall record.  The Bears won the MASCAC regular season title for the 13th straight season as they finished with a perfect 14-0 conference mark.

BSC is the top seed for the MASCAC Tournament which gets underway on Thursday, May 1st.  The Bears will host fourth seeded Framingham State College at Alumni Park on Thursday with the remainder of the tournament taking place at BSC on Saturday and Sunday.
