KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Shelby Slie improved to 6-0 on the season for Western Connecticut State University as the Colonials defeated the Bears of Bridgewater State College, 6-1, this afternoon at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida.
Slie allowed just three hits, struck out seven, walked one and
gave up one unearned run against the Bears.
Loren Angiolillo led WestConn's offense, going
two-for-two with two triples, two runs scored and an RBI.
Becca Andruskiwec went one-for-three and scored
two runs in the win as the Colonials remained undefeated on the
season with a 7-0 record.
Jillian Vancelette took the loss in the circle for
BSC after allowing two runs on two hits in the three innings of
work. She struck out two and walked three. Daniell
Trull-Donahue, Allie LeBlanc and
Tracey Sanko had the Bears three hits.
Bridgewater (1-2) scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth when Trull-Donahue led off the frame with a single and moved to third when Ciana Godin reached on an error. With nobody out in the inning, Trull-Donahue crossed the plate when Godin was throw out attempting to steal second.
