BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the sixth time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Trevor Wysong has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Wysong earned All-New England honors at the Division III New England Cross Country Championships hosted by Bowdoin College this past weekend as he placed 12th out of a field of 385 runners. The Taunton, Massachusetts product covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:11.22 as he qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships for the second straight season.

The MASCAC Runner of the Week accolade marks the 13th of Wysong’s career as he also earned the honor six times last season and once in 2017.

Wysong is one of 280 runners, including 49 from the New England region, who will be competing at the national championship meet which will be held on Saturday (Nov. 23) at Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. Spalding University is the host school and the men’s meet is slated to get underway at 10:45 a.m. (ET).

Wysong is the first harrier in BSU men's cross country history to qualify for the national championship meet in back-to-back years. In 2018, he placed 70th at the DIII Championships in Winneconne, Wisconsin with a time of 25:23.3.
