Trevor Wysong Named MASCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the fifth time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Trevor Wysong has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Wysong captured the individual title and earned MASCAC Runner of the Year honors for the second year in a row as he placed first out of a field of 92 runners this past weekend at the 2019 MASCAC Championships held at Moore State Park in Paxton. The Taunton, Massachusetts product covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:56 as he outran the field by more than 90 seconds. Wysong also helped the Bears claim the team championship for the first time since 2012 and the seventh time in program history.

The MASCAC Runner of the Week accolade marks the 12th of Wysong’s career as he also earned the honor six times last season and once in 2017. Wysong was also the conference Runner of the Year in 2018 and qualified for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.

Following an off weekend, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday, November 16th.
