BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Trevor Wysong has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Wysong placed ninth out of a field of 170 runners at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held this past weekend at Franklin Park. The Taunton, Massachusetts product covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 24:59.4. He was the top Division III harrier at the meet which featured student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions.
The MASCAC Runner of the Week accolade marks the eleventh of Wysong’s career as he also earned the honor six times last season and once in 2017. Wysong was also the conference Runner of the Year in 2018 and qualified for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.
The season continues for the BSU cross country teams on Saturday (Oct. 19) as the Bears will compete at the Western New England Invitational in Springfield.
