Trevor Wysong to Compete at NCAA Cross Country Championships

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) will compete at the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 17th.

Wysong is one of 280 runners, including 49 from the New England region, competing at the national championship meet which will be held at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin. The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is the host school and the men’s meet is slated to get underway at 1:15 p.m. (ET).

Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in the championship meet.  The top two, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 16 teams. Sixteen additional teams were selected at-large.

Fifty-six individuals, the first seven athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were also selected to participate.

Wysong is the ninth BSU men's harrier to compete at the Division III national championships and first since Andy Sukeforth in 2014.

On Saturday, Wysong earned All-New England honors at the Division III New England Cross Country Championships hosted by Bowdoin College as he placed seventh out of a field of 416 runners. Wysong covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:11.34.
