BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University freshman Sean Smith has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.
Smith placed 21st out of a field of 63 runners at the Tri-State Invitational held this past weekend on the campus of CCRI. The Norton, Massachusetts product covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 32:57.17.
The season continues for the BSU cross country teams on Saturday when they compete at the NEICAAA Championships held at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
