BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Gilley Kabamba has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week.
Kabamba placed tenth at the MASCAC Men's Cross Country Championships hosted by Westfield State University this past weekend at Stanley Park. The Lynn, Massachusetts product covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 27:21.06 as he earned MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors.
Kabamba helped the BSU men's cross country team place second team standings as the Bears (30 pts.) were edged out by meet champion Fitchburg State University (34 pts.).
Following a week off, the BSU men's cross country team will compete at the New England Division III Championships hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday, November 11th.
